The only visible latrine by the timber yard is still being refreshed, so there's clearly still presence down there. The photograph above is a car park vole, spotted this afternoon.

About this Blog
This blog charts the fortunes of water voles in and around the Whitchurch area, North Shropshire. Water voles are one of the UK's most threatened mammals, extinct in many counties, and so it's vital they receive as much monitoring and protection as there is going. Here in Whitchurch we're lucky enough to have them right in the middle of town - how cool is that?

Do they have voles in Florida? I bet they do, of some description.
They have palm rats... but I must admit when they started running around the house at night I wasn't too keen on them! No water voles in the Keys (as not enough fresh water) but on the mainland I expect they have them. We are going to France in July to a vole hot-spot, so I will be looking out for them there and of course I'm still looking for them at home on the Stour in Dorset. Jane
