About this Blog
This blog charts the fortunes of water voles in and around the Whitchurch area, North Shropshire. Water voles are one of the UK's most threatened mammals, extinct in many counties, and so it's vital they receive as much monitoring and protection as there is going. Here in Whitchurch we're lucky enough to have them right in the middle of town - how cool is that?

It is beautiful weather, and the voles seem to be thriving inspite of the bare banks.
Still waiting for the May blossom but it looks like it's nearly here. I've seen a Glastonbury Thorn in bloom today, which is a sort of Hawthorne but doesn't really count.
I'm sure it can't be long for Tescos now - mind you it has been a while and I've almost forgotten what they were going to do!
They were 'fairly sure they could push through coin-release trolleys', was what I was told.
