Tesco Car Park Still Busy

Eating pollen for the protein.

This vole has a wound on its back, possibly from fighting other voles.

Feeding station - a water vole was here.

This nursing mother squirrel has been coming to our garden this week.

Hedgehogs and Ponds

The video shows both hogs are still in the garden and using the feeder. The one on the right also uses the water tray for drinking: hedgehogs drink a lot.

We do have a new pond but it's steep-sided and so I put in brick steps in case little animals fell in trying to get a drink, and drowned.

Guest Hedgehogs

Delighted to give a home to these two hedgehogs who have spent their winter in a wildlife rescue centre, recovering from different problems. They're now healthy and wanted a garden where they could come and go. A friend has lent me a sturdy hedgehog house and a feeding station, and the hogs look as if they're settling in nicely. (Ignore the date on the video: it's a new camera and I haven't set it up properly yet.)
