Shifting Voles

Just when you thought my photos couldn't get any worse. Clicking to enlarge helps, but not much. Still, I was glad to see this chap as it's been a few days now since I've had any sightings, what with the rain. The vegetation's just starting to go over, which helps viewing, but also I've been looking in the wrong spot, I think. This water vole was on the opposite side of the bridge and well away from where the last month's activity's been. They do seem to shift up and down this stretch, or maybe it's different voles.

Popping in to say...Hello
I've been trying to keep up with your blog, and your research.
I'm sorry to say that I can't see him in your picture...:(
You must have a train eye!

Have a Great Weekend!

He's near the bottom, in the centre - just a bit of brown fur behind the grass. But the photo was worth taking because the colour shows it's definitely a water vole and not, say, a rat.
