What fantastic footage, Kate! Could this be a young owl I wonder?
I have no idea. I don't know anything about owls (other than that they predate on voles). What's fascinating is the way it hangs on and gives the island-perch several tries.
It was the wobbling about that made me wonder. Not sure an adult owl would wobble so much and I guess they are in prime learning how to hunt mode now.
You could well be right.
The consensus on Wild About Britain seems to be that the owl is bathing.
